It is no secret, I really dislike Las Vegas. It is hot, it is ugly, and it is the concrete jungle. When the opportunity to presented itself to meet up with Craig Pike from myrideisme.com to film Viva Las Vegas 2011, I jumped at the chance. It was my first time attending Viva and I love getting to know a whole new scene that is different than what I am typically used to.
I decided to take down my jib since I always go through remorse when I don’t take it anywhere. I am glad I did even though it was pretty crowded on day I was filming. With the help of my loving wife, we managed to push it all around the car show. I am sure glad I bought some wheels for it.
This is shot mainly with my 7D, jib, and pocket dolly. The lenses used were my Zeiss 28mm 2.8 and the Tokina 11-16mm 2.8 that I picked up in Hong Kong last month.
I couldn’t find a true “rockabilly” song that really fit. I chose a song that reminds me the most of Las Vegas every time I hear it.
Here are a few behind the scenes shots that my wife took of me filming.

That was another sweet video. What cool cars! I dug the music in the background too.
What’s the name of the song playing?

Love your work, clean and artistic.
What rig are you using in the last pic?
I am using a Kessler Crane Pocket Jib. It can be a pain to haul around but it makes for some great shots.
Nice shots and cool edit. A real coll “rockabilly” album is Instru-Mental from Brian Setzer with nice instrumentals tracks really rock. give it a try!
Absolutely impressive piece of film. A nice fresh angle and styling on the hot rod scene! Well done!
